Union Bank has a great opportunity for an experienced Customer Service Associate to be the driver behind providing excellent customer service for our internal and external clients of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (BTMU) California Support Unit. Job Summary: A Customer Service Associate is responsible for providing extraordinary customer service to the Japanese deposit customer of the bank. Resolve problems, answer questions, handle transaction, arrange for special requests, and make decisions under assigned authority. Provide a high level of responsiveness when working with clients and account officers/sales officers regarding a customer relationship. Analyze data and make recommendation as to exposure and possible risk to the bank on, new accounts, wire transfers, book transfers, overdraft conditions and uncollected funds usage. Job Details: Major responsibilities include: * Handle requests from customers for deposit related activities such as the opening of new accounts and time deposits, wire transfers, stop payments, issuance of cashier's checks, foreign drafts and problem resolution. * Respond to and resolve customer inquiries regarding deposit products, account analysis, service charges, and cash management services. * Resolve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures. * Work with bank and regulatory policies and procedures that are associated with bank products and services * Coordinate with various bank departments in the identification and resolution of operational issues. * Review credit report, gather information, recommend items to be returned or paid and inform account officers of any OD, NSF, or UCF situation. * On a daily basis, will need to read, translate, and write in the Japanese and English languages * Will work with Microsoft and Bank applications (Word, Excel, OASIS, Lotus Notes, RUMBA, CCRTS) on a daily basis Required: * 1 year of demonstrated business experience and knowledge experience with customer service within a call center or banking environment that can communicate (verbal and written) and use their interpersonal skills in both English and Japanese * 1 year of demonstrating basic knowledge and understanding of banking deposit account products and services * 1 year of demonstrating the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision in a high productivity and time sensitive environment, demonstrating excellent organizational skills. * 1 year of demonstrating previous experience in working with sensitive information that requires close attention to detail. * 1 year of demonstrating previous experience in working in an environment that requires good decision m
