Potential exists for applicant to travel to and perform work in a hostile environment. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Customer Service Engineer include: ? Installing pit and duct systems on various USMC bases throughout Afghanistan ? Pulling commercial grade fiber optic cable ? Ability to tip and splice single and multi-mode fiber ? Troubleshoot degraded transmission path ? Installing internal Cat V cable and terminate with both RJ-45 and keystone jacks in buildings ? Ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults in building wiring and repair them. ? Install cable trays and ensure a clean and professional installation ? Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ? Requires a valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to obtain an international driver's license ? Successful completion of CRC required Working knowledge of operation and configuring the following equipment is a plus: ? Fiber Modems ? Cable toner tool Qualifications Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline, or in the absence of an bachelor's degree, six years of related experience. Applicant must have an active US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
