Customer Service Help Desk Agent

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a Customer Service Help Desk Agent in our Information Technology Department for our Columbus, OH location.  We are looking for a driven, hardworking, motivated, and customer focused individual.

 

This candidate will be responsible for:

1.       Performance of all assigned responsibilities to the best of his/her ability. Specific duties include:

o    Provide telephone based customer service support for hardware or software issues to internal and external customers. 

o    Learn and teach all software packages in the Kimball Midwest Information Technologies office. This will include Microsoft based applications as well as proprietary software.

o    Document reported issues and intelligently communicate them the correct employees for Resolution

o    Use help desk software that provides the means to log in problems with all supporting information, details to resolve the problem and why the incident was closed. If the problem is not resolved, then track them until solved.

o    Resolve simple support issues with pre-documented steps to resolution.

o    Provide management with information regarding support activities Interact with people on all levels.

o    Follow up with quality surveys.

2.       Perform other tasks assigned by the Information Technologies Assistant Manager and/or Senior Management.

3.       Maintain a clear understanding of Kimball Midwest goals and practice proper policies and procedures.

 

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

1.       Excellent phone demeanor and customer service skills.

2.       Ability to speak on the phone for extended periods of time.

3.       Ability to handle contiguous phone calls.

4.       Adheres punctually to documented schedules.

5.       Some experience with Microsoft Windows, Office and Outlook.

6.       Familiar with voice mail, and conference calling.

7.       Strong analytic and multitasking skills - with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows and Windows based applications.

8.       Ability to document activities as they happen via a ticketing system.

9.       Ability to effectively communicate cross-organizationally and work well in a small team, fast-paced environment.

10.   Is a highly motivated, well-organized, self-starter desiring an opportunity to grow both technically and professionally.

11.   A “can-do” attitude. Is flexible to work outside of normal business hours.

12.   The ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, managers, sales representatives, and outside vendors.

13.   The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations.   

14.   The ability to follow oral and written instructions
