Job Purpose/Job Description:

 

Financial Service Advisor - Financial Aid Assistant -  assists in implementing a customer-focused financial aid plan that supports the Schools culture, the admissions process and service in the school, and its Future Professionals. Financial Aid Assistants demonstrate integrity, ethical behavior, and a high level of confidentiality in recognizing and working with confidential information records and concerning the personal finances of Future Professionals.

Duties include Serves customers by explaining services; obtaining and recording customer information; preparing documents.

Duties:

He or she prepares all paperwork pertaining to grants, loans, etc.

2. He or she works to collect required verification and complete the verification process.

3. He or she certifies) federal aid funding to the school and maintains proper documentation.

4. He or she counsels and advises Future Professionals and parents on financial aid eligibility guidelines and available programs, including tuition, loans, verification, or payment plans.

5. He or she knows and understands the software system and the data entry process

6. He or she understands how to complete a FAFSA

7. He or she understands collection procedures and account postings

8. He or she has excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and can effectively convey and exchange information.

9. He or she can interpret, apply, and comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing student financial aid and maintain a current working knowledge of guidelines and regulations related to financial aid.

10. He or she Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
