Customer Service Representative (Claims) Job in Richmond 23220, Virginia US

Customer Service Representative is responsible for taking incoming calls from providers received into the Claims Customer Service queues.  The representative will handle all incoming calls quickly and efficiently while delivering quality customer service to the caller.  All issues are to be resolved within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.  The representative will also be responsible for responding to incoming faxes requesting claims status updates.

The representative will identify any trends with calls denials or other claim related issues by the provider and share those findings with the Provider Services department.

High School diploma or equivalent required

Excellent phone skills

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Strong time management skills

Knowledge of CPT-4 coding and ICD-9

Knowledge of various types of medical claims

Prior call center experience (preferred)

Minimum one year of experience in a customer service position (preferably in the medical field)

Minimum one year of experience in claim processing (preferred)

Knowledge of IDX claim processing (helpful)
