We are seeking an outstanding and experienced Customer Service Representative III for our office in Morton Grove, Illinois. John Crane designs and manufactures seals and associated products for the oil gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp paper, and mining sectors. BASIC FUNCTION:
Under limited direction of the Department Supervisor, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for communication with respective accounts to coordinate the attainment of the highest customer service levels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review order status to ensure proper scheduling methods at Morton Grove meet scheduled delivery dates and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize delivery date integrity on all orders though internal and external communication on scheduled dates of factory work orders or purchase orders.
  • Publish performance reports to highlight key areas as they relate to their respective accounts.
  • Monitor order status changes to ensure accuracy of data throughout the order fulfillment process.
  • Develop a Master Scheduling Plan spreadsheet on major customers to work in conjunction with the planning areas to ensure attainment of blanket orders with respect to delivery, cost requirements, and inventory levels. Master Schedule Plan must be coordinated, prioritized, and monitored/reported to ensure availability of product.
  • Customer open order base is to be reviewed in a timely manner to rectify any concerns prior to expediting the process.
  • Publish reports, as required, regarding improvements attained with respect to customer backlogs.
  • Maintain personal computer skills to allow for data collection, spreadsheet computation and professional presentation.
  • Analyze complex processes in a systematic manner and create reports in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Generate quotes for customers, branch offices and field sales personnel.
  • Channel RMA requests to the appropriate parties, advise customer of the champions on the corrective actions and follow up on the responses.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of related work experience are required. Must be computer literate with knowledge of both PC and mainframe applications. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently using sound judgment. Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask are essential. Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed. Familiarity with DRP and MRPII systems and experience with international customers a plus.
