Customer Support Engineer

Eaton Corporation has an opening for a Customer Service Engineer.

The ideal candidate will reside in between the Lubbock/Odessa and Dallas/Fort Worth areas and be able to respond to customers in the West Texas area within 3 hours.

This position will be responsible for servicing electrical (high voltage environment)Uninterruptible Power Systems, batteries and electronic based products at the customer site. Performs emergency and preventative maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair and/or installation of company products to include uninterruptible power supplies and batteries. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system
equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Works on assignments that are fairly routine in nature where minimal judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties.
• Analyze test data and recognize deviation from acceptable values
• Must demonstrate proficiency on all products and field processes
• Responsible for uploading all field activity reports, managing assets and controlling inventory
• Provides high level of quality service
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Take ownership of an assigned task and see it through to a successful completion
• Understand need for safety, and comply with company and customer rules on safety
• Responsible to meet annual goals set forth by Management (utilizations, work completions, etc.)
• Ongoing customer interaction and customer service requirements
• Maintain professional conduct and dress at customer sites
• Able to work with other CSEs and take directions from the lead CSE on site
• Performs other duties as required

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of Power Systems, battery technologies, and electronic experience.
• Valid and unrestricted State Drivers license with no restrictions
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• At this time, relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates within the specified areas will be considered.

Position Criteria
• Ability to read schematics drawings and company technical publications
• Ability to read electrical drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques
• Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming
• Understand how to use Oscilloscope
• Understand how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks
• Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet celled battery theory and application.
• Self-starter and motivator.
• Understand the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools
• PC Proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook
• Proven/Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent customer relations skills
• Strong time management skills
• Attentive to details, and focus on customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited school and/or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
