Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC a world leader in the manufacturing and servicing of Microscopy Technology, has an opportunity available for a Customer Support Engineer I in the Washington, DC Market.

 

Primary duties include being responsible for customer service activities associated with updating, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex capital equipment at customer sites. Assumes accountability for customer satisfaction as it relates to service and represents the company to assure operational quality of system equipment.

 

Qualified candidates will bring a B.S. degree in Life Sciences or equivalent or related military electronics experience, one year if engineering or other hard science discipline. Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot problems in software and electronics, optics and electron optics, high voltage, high vacuum, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Experience and proven ability in troubleshooting and supporting Transmission Electron, Scanning Electron and Focused Ion Beam Microscopes is required. Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss complex issues with customers and relaying key points to Zeiss management to assist in the solution is a must.

 

Position includes extensive travel of 50% both domestic and international.
