Bering Straits Aerospace Services (BSAS) is looking for CV-22 Avionics Technicians (Electronics Technicians).
Responsible to perform aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, checks, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance and preservation of avionics and similar equipment. Performs calibration of tools and equipment. Assists with servicing, launch, and recovery. Operates ground support equipment and flightline foreign object prevention walks. Performs all assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
Applies knowledge of military aircraft electrical systems, cockpit instrumentation, electronic flight controls, air data systems, electronic counter measures, fault recording systems, navigation and communication systems and built-in test interpretation to support military airplane customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to work with and maintain standard and non-standard test equipment, instruments, meters, and gauges used in troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft avionics, electrical, and instrument systems.
- Performs inspection, functional check, troubleshooting, modification, repair, overhaul, maintenance and preservation of avionics, radio, electromechanical radar, navigation, autopilot automatic stabilization, instrument, ASE and photo systems, components, and parts.
- Works with design, test and development personnel in adapting new avionics, electrical and instrumentation designs to aircraft installations and fabricates/assembles the needed wires, panels, test and recording devices to accomplish the assigned job.
- Performs in-house calibration requirements of tools and equipment used by employees in this and lower classifications.
- Must be able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
- Provide On-The-Job Training to Air Force personnel as required and document training.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to read, understand and work with blueprints, schematic and engineering drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, printed circuits and cards, manufacturer’s specifications, maintenance manuals, and other reference sources used in avionics, radio, instrument, radar, navigation systems, autopilot, automatic stabilization, photography, electromechanical fabrication, maintenance, repair and overhaul .
- Completes and maintains records and reports as functional assignments require.
- Operates aircraft towing equipment in aircraft towing operations.
- CV-22 experience is required.
- Minimum of 7 years aircraft maintenance experience.
- Must be a graduate of a recognized school (civilian or military) for electronics/avionics maintenance, repair and overhaul; or must demonstrate an ability to perform inspection, troubleshooting, major repair, modification, and overhaul of components in aircraft avionics, radio, NVAID, radar, autopilot, electromechanical, ASE equipment, and instrument systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Special Certifications – Maintain equivalent maintenance qualifications to Air Force 7-level equivalency for primary specialty for Red-X Discrepancies and In Process Inspections (IPI) or Marine CDI qualified.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to perform assigned duties at deployed locations in both the CONUS and OCONUS.
- Required to support worldwide deployments to include regions of conflict, combat, or contingency operations.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Must have broad knowledge of AC/DC electricity, electromechanical components, and radio and electronics (state-of-art), including radar and navigation and autopilot/automatic stabilization systems as used in aircraft.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to sever changes in temperature, wind rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and electrical shock hazards
