Damage Prevention Inspector (Canada) Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Primary Focus
Provides line locating assessor training to appropriate field staff across Canada. Undertakes damage prevention audits and inspections of line locating activities and investigates any and all line strike incidents across the Canadian LP and oil gathering systems.
This position will be stationed at one of our offices depending on the successful candidate's location.
Responsibilities
Provides field based training on line locating to Enbridge employees which includes competency evaluation and certifying employees. Provide guidance relative to the TALL training program to Enbridge employees
Provides guidance and direction to field staff relative to OMP policies procedures
Provides advisory services on developing and maintaining line locating procedures and policies
Undertakes regular audits of line locating activities excavation activities Canada wide. This includes investigating all and any line strikes
Provides assistance to the Regional damage prevention initiatives (i.e. contractor breakfasts, safety seminars)
Coordinate and document the annual inspection of Pipeline Warning signs with Regions
Provide Region assistance in the ongoing implementation of the Pipeline Depth Monitoring Program (Canada)
Provides assistance with respect to other damage prevention program initiatives
Qualifications
College diploma (i.e. CET), equivalent education will be considered
5-6 years of line locating experience
Ability to train others through formal education or 5 years hands-on experience.
Knowledge of the pipeline industry, standards, policies procedures, ideally in the realm of damage prevention and line locating
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to understand detailed engineering drawings, design standards, codes, regulations
Strong computer and organizational skills.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
