The Role

Forming part of a global equity team, you will manage the data inputs to the investment process especially quality control, project management of data enhancements and building new data investment variables.

Overview of role

Quality Control

* Ensure timely and accurate delivery of data to the investment process, including the design of scheduled reports based around the data delivery and checking procedures.
* Perform data quality activities to ensure that data held within the investment process is both timely and accurate.
* Develop and maintain team policy and procedure documentation for data quality control.
* Manage any changes required from data providers due to updates or errors.
* Integrate back-up source of data and enhance checking procedures.

Data Enhancements

* Regularly review the availability of more detailed data from existing providers and sources of alternative company/market data.
* Provide analysis of the impact of any pending changes to the underlying data (e.g. coverage or regulatory changes).

Data Transforms

* Manage the implementation of new investment variables and enhancements to existing inputs to the investment process. This will require working closely with IT/operations to ensure timely delivery as well as the investment team in order to provide analysis of the potential impact of any changes.
* Independent analysis of data, particular company accounts in order to ensure investment measures are developed correctly and comparably within the research process
* Integrate new variables and ad-hoc data sources within the research data
* Undertake independent research in order to suggest new variables or the refinement of existing ones

EXPERIENCE

* A good degree in a numeric field, preferably Statistics, Operational Research, Economics or a Finance related course
* 
* Applied experience of SQL/ VBA and preferably Matlab
* 
* Experience in equity data, familiarity with company accounts and an understanding of the main concepts of stock analysis
* 
* Intellect, creativity and a passion for excellence. Persuasive, credible and confident presence in dealing with management and colleagues
* 
* The ability to produce communication material which is clear and concise and demonstrates the ability to explain technical issues to both technicians and non-technicians.
