Data Analyst

 

Contractual Position:    Data Analyst – Part Time

 

Duties:   

The Data Analyst position facilitates management of data in support of ongoing organizational quality improvement efforts. Multiple data sources are utilized in order to access information required for quality/performance improvement activities, patient and primary care partner initiatives and regulatory compliance. The position is accountable for multiple aspects of data management, including: creation, collection, preliminary analysis, interpretation, graphical display, reporting, and integrity of data and reports.

 

1.       Identify, research, compile and analyze data and trends relative to project objectives, working with the project team, health plans and other identified partners. This includes participation in planning and adherence to varied regulations governing individual and aggregate data, data integrity and confidentiality requirements. 

2.       Develop standard and special reports in order to identify opportunities for improvement and to verify the success of improvement actions taken.

3.       Assists with database functions and reporting: design, implementation, use and modification of internal database systems; access of external databases; monitoring performance of databases; analysis of stakeholder data requirements; with assistance provided to stakeholders as needed.

4.         Coordinate and/or participate in data analysis, discussion and development of action plans and special projects as directed.

 

Education and/ or Experience Requirements:

1.          Bachelor’s degree required, in Business Administration, Health Information Management or related field

2.          Utilizing strong data management or statistical analysis including fiscal/billing data

3.          Two years’ experience in healthcare data management and/or quality improvement, or equivalent

4.          Strong analytical and technical skills in area of data management.

5.          Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet. Familiarity with Access.

6.          Knowledge of statistical analysis, data display and benchmarking

7.          Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with supporting ability to effectively relate, inform, instruct and facilitate the understanding and use of generated data.

8.          Professional, highly flexible, able to manage multiple and changing priorities, and meet project deadlines.

9.          Ability to work with members of multiple disciplines to identify sources of data, collection methodologies and improvement opportunities.

10.   Knowledge of public health, hospital systems, Medicaid billing and medical terminology preferred.

 

Relationships:   

Performs under the supervision of the WCHAP Project Director and according to established

policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

 

Compensation:  

$25 per hour. 16-20 hours per week
