Data Analyst/Developer (Oracle MSSQL - Credit/Market Risk - Investment Bank

Understanding of traditional database (Oracle, MSSQL) and of more emergent data management technologies (NoSQL, NewSQL, MapReduce, ObjectStore, Graph).
Coding skills in some of Perl/Java/.NET for the building of test frameworks.
Core data modelling and design skills/expertise.
Documentation of data structures and models.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Evidence of contribution designing the next generation of "best in class" strategic Risk Management systems for a leading Bank and the variety of ways risk data could be modeled.
A good understanding of the credit and/or market risk business processes within Investment Banking.
Understanding of financial instruments, risk and pricing modelling.
Strong background in data analysis within complex software environments; and be able to describe practical day-to-day analysis techniques they have used in order to achieve goals. Demonstrated track-record of delivery on strategic programs of work.

Role;
Understanding the existing physical and logical aspects of the data models employed by the various existing risk systems (currently implemented in a variety of technologies) in the Front Office and Credit Risk and built out a common logical data model.
Based on the selection process underway on the emergent technologies, understand how the current logical data model can best be mapped to the data representation supported by the technology under evaluation.
Gather and setup test data.
Manipulating it as appropriate to fit with the technology, and to assist in the execution of the data models.
The output of this modelling work will feed into the overall target architecture Datamodelling work, and so this role will involve collaborating on the Datamodelling exercise with the firm-wide team.
