Roles and Responsibilities
Working within KPMG's FS Data Insight team this new role involves a varied combination of technical skills, client contact, business development and project management. The FS Data Insight Services team sits within KPMG Risk Compliance function and is a facility that brings together analytics specialists, hardware and software to provide a unique facility that allows customers to commission one-off pieces of analytics work, proofs of concept or ongoing data oriented managed services. It represents a critical component to KPMG's growth strategy and is where much of the innovative early thinking takes place on fraud detection and other data driven projects.
The successful candidate will perform a client delivery focused role, which typically involves the manipulation, analysis and modelling of complex data and transformations using innovative techniques to extract the necessary intelligence from related data assets.
As part of assisting clients in data assignments, candidates will be expected to understand and advise upon data management and data quality issues, profiling, cleaning, processing and transforming data. Responsibilities:
- Hands on technical capability
- Project delivery: from initial client consultation to presentation of results
- Data analysis, manipulation, querying and profiling - assisting in the development of sales collateral and ability to communicate this information both within KPMG and externally to clients
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven data extraction, cleansing and manipulation skills
- Significant experience with either of the following data manipulation software: SAS, SQL (Oracle/SQL Server)
- Handling large data volumes (incl. efficiency and scalability concepts)
- Degree equivalent level in either a numerate subject (eg Statistics or Operations Research) or Information Technology
Experience and Background
- Prior Financial Services experience is desirable
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis (such as regression, clustering, sampling, social network analysis)
