Data Architect/Information Architect -London recruitment

From an architecture perspective, the role provides owns the key data assets within each domain, including the domain data logical data models, and ensure project level data architecture has strategic fit and is fit-for-purpose for the project, and to manage and enforce data standards and best practices.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for the ongoing management of logical data models, including definition of modelling standards practices, sign-off of model changes proposed by projects, periodic reviews of existing models, and linkage (where appropriate) with the broader IT community.

• Thought leadership on overall modelling efforts and linkages, especially the coincidence of data, process and state/event modelling, including master data management.

• Consult with project teams around training on modelling standards and practices; provide thought leadership and content expertise into projects; steer projects toward strategic goals.

• Manage and maintain appropriate business data dictionaries or other metadata to ensure all elements of models are adequately explained and documented.

• Ensure project models are predicated off of central models and that project model content is incorporated back into central models.

• Liaise with industry vendors and partners to distil best practices and methodologies.

• Work with peers in other segments and at Group level to ensure that models are aligned and conform with Group standards.

• Establish/manage a community of interest of architects who have an interest in data/information architecture.

• Support the data quality agenda.

Essential experience and job requirements

 • Worked as a Data Architect in a financial services trading environment

• An in-depth experience with a variety of data management technologies and methods.

• Strong understanding of XML, XSD message based environments.

• Strong business Data Modelling including use of standard tools methodologies such as ARIS, UML, Rational Rose, E/R Studio, or similar for entity-relationship modelling, entity life history descriptions, process modelling, etc.

• Worked on a large global data consolidation/standardisation projects and produced the architectural vision for the management of data.

• Experience in communicating with technology experts and business management across multiple organisational areas.
