General Dynamics Information Technology designs, builds and integrates the first Marine Corps Enterprise IT Services (MCEITS) Datacenter, which supports the data processing requirements for the entire U.S. Marine Corps.The MCEITS center provides application hosting capabilities, enterprise shared services, access to enterprise-wide information, collaboration and information sharing across business and warfighter domains.
The MCEITS program provides the Marine Corps with a modernized IT-enabled capability for use in enterprise and expeditionary environments. This includes implementation of an IT infrastructure with application, service and data environments. Additionally, MCEITS will deliver an IT infrastructure that can quickly, easily and securely adapt to evolving software, hardware, data, services and management requirements while providing an enhanced enterprise visibility that facilitates greater reuse of IT assets.
The Network Technician reports to the Lead Systems Engineer and is responsible for the analysis, administration, and support of data communications network devices to include the management of F5 Load Balancers, Blue Coat Proxies and Cisco Ironports. The SIE Network infrastructure requires monitoring and configuration of network devices in support of system integration and testing functions. In addition to routine operation and maintenance, the Network Administrator will provide Tier III support to the EITC and MOC in the resolution of network related problems. This includes the set up and configuration of devices to facilitate controlled data interface testing, network loading and troubleshooting as required to duplicate and resolve network issues. The Network Technician must be able to independently execute required network preparations on schedule in accordance application documentation.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Requires CCNA, F5-PCL, BCCPA, or ESFE (Email Security for Field Engineers).
Requires IAT level II certification (i.e. GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP).
5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration.
Requires 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience. Prefer DoD experience Data Center hosting background operating in an ITIL framework as follows:
