Data Center Operations Manager

Specific Job Description ? Accountable for the management and oversight of the CITIC 24 x 7 x 365 operations utilizing 150+ FTEs (4-5 direct reports) supporting activities across all processing platforms in the 32.5K square foot Data Center. ? Must be effective at managing a large, complex and diverse processing environment involving IBM mainframe, Solaris UNIX, EMC Fujitsu Storage Solutions and Wintel platforms and complex communicating (VOIP, etc) networks. ? Ability to communicate opinions and thoughts, clearly and concisely to senior management, peers, staff personnel and customer will be required. ? Maintain a detailed focus on service delivery and tactical initiatives to meet business objectives. ? Actively work with the project management team to develop work plans, resource planning, budgeting, execution, and management for all operation projects. ? Generates metrics detailing day to day data center operations. ? Establishes maintenance and upgrade plans for the data center computing and network infrastructure. ? Oversees operational change request tracking, review, management, and approval. ? Coordinates with external organizations as needed to support data center operations. ? Responsible for developing strategic vision for the enterprise infrastructure and the technology direction across the enterprise. This includes but is not limited to disaster recovery planning, system security, capacity planning, storage management, crisis management, problem management, facilities management and mainframe system upgrades, programming and support. ? Analyzes equipment and operational failures to determine root cause and develop corrective action plans. ? Establish and support a positive work environment based on mutual respect, honesty, team work and continuous improvement ? Willing to work off hours as required; stronger management focus on process compliance than people.
