Kaiser Permanente Data Consultant - Marketing Burbank, CA Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Data Consultant to provide support in making strategic data-related decisions by analyzing, manipulating, tracking, internally managing and reporting data. The position functions both as a consultant and as a high-level data analyst. The position works with clients to develop the right set of questions/hypotheses, using the appropriate tools/skills to derive the best information to address customer needs. Essential Functions: - Provides consultation to clients, including organizational leadership guides work towards actionable outcomes - Regularly measures the impact of business decisions on clients customers - Evaluates effectiveness of actions/programs implemented makes recommendations - Works w/ clients staff to identify opportunities methods to improve efficiencies w/analysis - Provides support to peers mentoring to junior staff including technical programming - Assistance, project management scoping, documentation review support - Directs executes creative analytic approaches that lead to actionable outcomes which further promote organizational goals - Proactively recognizes potential issues, develops plans to address understands how to - communicate these steps to department leadership clients - Analyzes develops complex logical database designs, data models, relational data definition in support of corporate client area info systems requirements - Participates in the development of outcomes process measures, including technical specifications, to enable measurement evaluation - Builds sophisticated statistical models forecasting tools using databases - Defines frames complex multidimensional healthcare issues develops time tables/processes for decision making - Responsibilities impact the achievement of key department and/or functional objectives - Contributes to the achievement of department objectives - Involves interpreting analyzing established concepts - Exercises judgment to make decisions for less defined issues selects methods techniques for obtaining solutions - Organizes work structures analyses discussion to facilitate appropriate decision-making - Develops solid recommendations - Prepares analysis to develop solutions to complex problems requiring decision making - May refer to established precedents policies when making decisions - Works w/ clients to define problems, issues, scope of often ambiguous complex projects - Identifies key issues barriers, determines further attention, when appropriate defines problems for analysis - Provides professional/technical guidance to team members - Influences others regarding existing concepts, processes and/or methodology - Effectively leverages the expertise of other teams departments to achieve objectives - Demonstrates good team-work, facilitating, participating promoting cooperation of others - Comfortably appropriately communicates directly w/ organizational leadership - Works closely w/ other departments outside partners - Effectively interacts w/ employees, vendors, consultants, contractors - May communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors, clients, various senior level audiences - Partners w/ Program/Project Managers to initiate complete various project management tasks - Assume other duties as assigned Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 5-8 years of work experience - Four (4) year degree in related field OR equivalent experience - Thorough knowledge of policies, practices and systems - Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards - Full knowledge of industry practices - Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's and 5 or more years OR Master's and 3 years of work experience - Knowledge of healthcare industry - Familiarity with Kaiser Permanente healthcare system preferred - Technical savvy, including proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access and Project
