The Investment Management organisation making the hire continue to expand their business have plans for more significant automation addition than has historically been the case. The Role
This is a role in which the successful Data Developer / Analyst will need to work autonomously whilst integrating themselves into the organisations 25 staff base in London. The key deliverables can be divided between two key areas of responsibility which are; First, to work with the Head of Operations closely with the Head of Quantitative Analysis to build, maintain, enhance data feeds / databases as directed (e.g. portfolio index data feeds). The hire will need to develop maintain quantitative systems as directed by the Head of Quantitative Analysis, to run these on a weekly basis. The successful Data Developer / Analyst will need to understand system requirements and participate in business analysis and requirements gathering, with a view to developing testing solutions to meet the requirements. They will need to document solutions maintain copies of source code in appropriate systems. The role will also require the Data Developer / Analyst to work with marketing and client service teams to identify system based solutions to specific client demands. Second, the successful Data Developer / Analyst will work to support the Head of Operations IT with the management and interface with the firms IT third party providers, specifically in the aggregation of data for the purposes of producing monthly reports from third-party systems (e.g. Style Research/ FactSet). This hire will also need to produce monthly reports from in-house systems (e.g. skews, performance) to train nominated deputy/ emergency staff to cover in case of absence. The Data Developer / Analyst should be comfortable with the build, maintenance, enhancement of database reports, user applications, production support applications as directed by the Head of Operations and IT (e.g. performance database/ app; global intranet). This hire will fulfil a broad role in which they will also ultimately administer the database management servers, aggressively develop solutions to monitor data integrity correct data errors.It is envisaged that the Data Developer / Analyst will assist in the definition of the business IT requirements architecture going forward. As such knowledge of working in a demanding environment, with business focused users would be highly advantageous. The successful Data Developer / Analyst should have a good level of proven experience with a hedge fund / investment management / asset management firm, understand many of the day to day functions of their work in this capacity. The organisation have expressed a specific interest in candidate operating at a level at which they can rapidly assimilate themselves into the environment, begin to quickly add new value through automation of manual process transforming over time many of the tactical solutions in place into robust, innovative, scalable solutions for the future. The role requires a professional with excellent communications skills, the ability to understands business needs, to proactively identify propose intelligent solutions that will aid the expansion improvement of the existing IT environment.
Salary Benefits
£42,000-£50,000/Annum + Attractive Benefits Bonus Package
