We are growing our Engineering team and are looking for a Data Engineer/Analyst to be part of the growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with data base administration and analysis, an analytical mind, and the ability to grow into a key role in the development and support of enterprise data systems. The Data Engineer will work closely with the development and product management teams to enhance the performance and functionality of existing systems as well as participate in the design and delivery of new database solutions.

If you are an Engineer with a database background in PostgreSQL and Database Development/Management experience, please read on!

What you need for this position:
- Experience developing/managing complex databases and performing data analysis.
- Experience in the standardization, migration, transformation, validation and quality assurance of data within a multi-database platform environment, with at least one of those platforms being PostgreSQL.
- Extensive hands-on experience in performing data management activities such as data requirements gathering, data analysis/modeling, and data issues resolution.
- Must have expertise in relational data, data normalization, SQL, database concepts, and structured programming techniques.
- In-depth experience with reporting tools such as MS Access and Crystal Reports is required.

What you'll be doing:
- Identifies and maintains company databases including data sources, data structures, data organization and data optimization.
- Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.
- Provides analytical support and conducts data mining/complex multiple variable analysis.
- Builds trust and confidence in the appropriateness and accuracy of the data analysis.
- Identifies complex issues and see them through to resolution with minimal oversight.
- Provides regular analytical reporting on database development including data extracts for defined data sets.
- Performs QA functions to ensure accuracy of business rules defined and data presentation.
- Proactively identifies issues and trends through data analysis and manipulation
- Maintains change control.
