Data Governance & Communications Manager recruitment
Job Overview:
There is a requirement to design and implement a strategic “one place to go” on the intranet for information on data definitions, data governance, data steward contacts and other key information. There is also a tactical need to improve the design of existing SharePoint sites, the way in which they inter-relate and the content management processes that operate across them, including hands-on operation of those processes to de-duplicate content, ensure content is published, maintained and made available to people. There is also a need to develop a longer-term view of the communications and training plan required to roll data governance out in a prioritised way Group-wide, where the intranet sites play a role as part of a wider set of channels and change management interventions.
Key deliverables include:
• Tactical content management support and improvements (using SharePoint 2003)
• Stakeholder analysis / user profiling
• Integrated DG/RDM intranet requirements
• Intranet sites designs (e.g. site structures, wireframes, mock-ups, prototype sites)
• Comms training plan
• Intranet updates (including SharePoint 2003 and possibly SharePoint 2010)
• Implemented sites / implemented changes to sites
• Standardised content management process designs
• Implemented content management processes
Required skill sets
• Experience in the design and implementation of websites and/or intranet sites, preferably with experience of SharePoint 2003
• Skills and enthusiasm for hands-on content management processes, including attention to detail in the standard way in which documents are stored and metadata is applied to them, and tenacity in chasing people for content
• Experience in stakeholder analysis / user profiling and the design of communications and training plans
• Strong stakeholder/relationship management skills, including the ability to work with people to ensure that they fulfil their responsibilities for content submission and maintenance
• Ability to balance strategic direction and wider intranet’s information architecture designs with tactical requirements to deliver to immediate needs, ability to design and implement solutions that are both immediately useful and fit with longer-term strategy e.g. that are not too hard to migrate to new structures and are designed to be extensible
• Experience/knowledge of working in Financial Services sector (specifically with an understanding of the types of data that are likely to be seen e.g. finance and risk data)
