Data Management Administrator
Daily duties include but are not limited to working with the Models, Controllers, and Views of the Rails application, branching, merging, committing to the Git repository, providing quick demos of recent work and making adjustments for the customer ‘live’ during the demo, debugging errors, improving performance and updating code to better match best practices, checking for security holes and fixing them, checking for new versions of libraries (Gems) and (if they offer such improvements as to warrant bringing them into the code base) bringing them in via sneaker-net, looking for ways to not reinvent the wheel and get the job done efficiently with minimal sustainable effort – that’s why it’s written in Ruby
Experience
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field
• Ruby and/or Ruby on Rails 4+ years
• HTML, CSS, Javascript (JQuery) 4+ years
• SQL (SQLite3 and Oracle) 4+ years
• Windows and Linux development environments 4+ years
• Git 2+ years
• Oracle and MS Access experience highly desired
• Some experience in Relational Database design and development
• Experience with data modeling and third-normal form relational database design highly desired
• Experience with Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) and Mission Planning and Analysis System (MPAS) tools and processes used at USSTRATCOM would be highly desired
