SUMMARYThe Report Developer is the leader of the Qivliq Enterprise Applications department reporting area which is responsible servicing the data reporting needs of Qivliq and its twelve subsidiary companies.  These needs include the design, development, and maintenance of cognos8 Reporting environment including portals, portlets, dashboards and reports utilizing Cognos8 Query Studio, Report Studio, Event Studio, Metrics Studio. The Report Developer performs in both a developmental and operational role. In the developmental role, the developer serves as a consultant to the customer, helping to identify reporting requirements, to design the approach to producing the reports, and in developing the reports. Reporting design will be within the Deltek DPM data model. In the operational role, the Report Developer will troubleshoot issues and support tickets that arise around existing reports and data models.  This position has good growth potential, is highly visible and requires a very organized and motivated individual in order to be successful.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
 
• Qivliq Enterprise Application Services department Cognos8 advocate.
• Manage and enhance the data model(s) within Framework Manager.• Design, implement and manage the appropriate data security within the model.
• Execute business requirements in a Deltek Cognos8 model environment, insuring data security, user friendly access with “drill-thru” features.
• Develop reports for customers
• Manage of all scheduled jobs to build reporting objects in the environment. • Publish all reporting objects to Production, including deployment through Development.• User management: Handle all requests for user access and application access security. • Provide technical assistance for users by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with the Cognos   Modules.
• Work the Cognos8 Report Support Queue and troubleshoot and resolve issues and requests submitted regarding reports.• Communicate and work with parent and Deltek Support to troubleshoot issues identified with the Deltek data model and resolve them.• Assist in the Development of training programs for end users or technical support staff to use programs. • Assist in the development and management of the security strategy within the Deltek model necessary to support day-to-day operations.
• Other related duties may also be assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college, vocational, or technical training school.• Substantial experience and expertise in using Cognos applications in the areas of Metadata and User management administration, creating simple and complex reports.• 2-3 yrs experience developing reports that run against Costpoint, Time and Expense using the Deltek Model, enhancing existing packages within it, creating new packages and managing the versioning control aspect of the model is essential.
• Experience in the design development, integration and management of multiple security modeling methodologies, including but not limited to Row Level Security, Org Security, and folder security a plus.• Experience in creating reports, portal customization and unit testing.• Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills.
• Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills.• Experience working with large scale, complex system (data structure and usage, reporting requirements, interfaces with other systems) in a corporate setting.
• Certification with Cognos tool set is a plus.• Experience in the Row Level Security, Org Security, and folder security a plus.
