Description

The Data Quality supervisor reporting is responsible for reviewing the quality and effectiveness of the external reporting process to ensure that BNYM accurately meets its reporting obligations to U.S. or non-U.S. regulatory authorities. The Data Quality supervisor reporting will be responsible for the execution of the end-to-end data quality reviews of external reports, including the development of review plans as well as workpapers in accordance with regulatory reporting or GAAP reporting requirements. S/he will also manage tracking of deficiencies and their remediation by process owners, report findings to the Controller and other stakeholders as directed; and support the Manager of Data Quality-External Reporting by preparing reports/presentations to Senior Leadership, including the Audit Committee. S/he will have exposure to compliance and reporting standards in an internal reporting environment. This position manages and develops direct reports, including timely feedback, training and career development. Models BNYMellon integrity and standards in all interactions. This position will support special projects and continuous improvement work efforts around External Reporting processes. S/he will be responsible for monitoring the development of remediation plans as well as insuring that established controls are maintained in the future. S/he will coach and mentor peers and less experienced team members to perform effectively in their roles and to further develop their expertise in External Reporting and their knowledge of BNYM's financial systems and operational processes. The Data Quality supervisor will also assist the Manager of Data Quality-External Reporting in testing the accuracy and completeness of BNYM's external reports to ensure that the reports comply with reporting requirements (including the SEC, FRB, FSA and NBB). Responsibilities include understanding and interpretation of regulatory rules and disclosures, detailed review of the filing process and ensuring consistency across reports. This position will work closely with various groups within BNYM including Regional, Country and Legal Entity Controllers, Accounting DPOs, Line of Business CFOs and their delegates, Legal, Operations, Risk, Technology and Compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree preferably in Finance or Accounting in the U.S. or equivalent work experience; Degree and recognized accounting qualifications in the UK. MBA preferred. Finance/Accounting or other relevant degree in the UK preferred. 10+ years of experience in auditing, accounting/ finance or compliance for a publically-held company. Experience in a global financial services organization preferred. External Reporting and internal/external audit experience preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
