Data Services Delivery Manager recruitment

The DMG team in London is part of the Global Data Management Group which includes teams in Krakow, Chicago, Luxembourg and Singapore. The Global DMG group provides round the clock data coverage (instrument, pricing, counterparty) for UBS Global Asset Management’s Investment and Accounting systems.

The duties of this role include work across 3 categories.
• RTB and Control
• Project/Change the Bank
• Clients

Detailed overview of Duties:

RTB and Control
• To have oversight and take ownership of the delivery of comprehensive, timely and accurate pricing and instrument reference data within UBS
• To monitor and ensure that the team in the service centre adheres to the relevant data processes and procedures and to inform and train them in the case of any changes
• To maintain, document, disseminate and apply specialist data knowledge
• To ensure business controls including audit and regulatory requirements are relevant, implemented and adhered to
• To analyse and to lead the implementation of data standards across our systems

Project/Change the Bank
• To keep up to date about changing practices, standards or procedures in the asset management and/or financial data industry, to understand the impact to our data delivery and to take the necessary steps to implement changes if and when required
• To lead UAT for new processes and systems, liaising with other business areas and offices
• To actively represent DMG in the Data Strategy project and assist in analysing and implementing changes to the global DMG workflows
• To use own initiative to review and conduct quality assurance of pricing and reference data held on global applications
• To assist in the introduction of new products/funds and the trading of new asset classes (especially in the derivatives area) and coordinate for global DMG the data requirements, new processes and procedures if and when required
• To lead and drive projects to gain efficiency and cut cost, by removing legacy processes and procedures, and by removing vendor feeds where no longer needed

Clients
• To act as a contact point for escalated pricing and reference data queries or issues arising from our clients and/or other DMG teams
• To lead client relationship management for DMG, to build and sustain relationships with clients, to arrange regular client meetings and to provide relevant MIS data
• To help maintain the relationships with our data vendors and to assist in the selection process for new vendors if and when required
• To implement and monitor the agreed SLA with internal clients, both end-users and application systems

• Experience of using relational databases / data-cleansing applications
• Excellent technical skills e.g. Excel (to macro level), MS Office, SQL
• The ability to continually identify and implement process improvements
• Degree or equivalent experience, ideally in a finance, economics or similar quantitative discipline
• Significant prior experience in a similar Data focused role

• Familiar with using data vendors (Bloomberg, FTID, Telekurs and Reuters) to source and retrieve data
