Department Summary:
The eSolutions and Services team is part of the WSS Platform organization that is focused on the delivery technology related solutions and services to our client base. In Australia and New Zealand the clients are primarily Investment Managers or Superannuation funds. In Australia, the current team is 9 full time employees with 6 working in Technology relationship capabilities, and 2 product management roles. The Australian team is aligned to the global Platform organisation with headquarters in New York.
Key Responsibilities:
The Data Services Messaging is a Vice President level role based in Sydney reporting to the local Executive Director - Head of ESS Australian and NZ. You will be responsible for:
- Product management for all local technology products for In-bound and Out-bound data services including
- In-bound - Online instruction capture gateway Transaction Initiation, FORTE (Managed Funds), SWIFT and file based messagin
- Out-bound - Local standard technology products including Generic Data Feed, Factset GDF, General Ledger. Global products include View Portfolio Reporting.
- Australia NZ data services strategy ensuring aligning of local and global priorities. The strategy will be reviewed every 6 months and modified pending our key client requests and emerging market requirements
- Act as local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Australia NZ clients for data services
- Dissemination of information from Global initiatives and product direction to the local internal stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with internal technology roles including Data Architect and Development leads to ensure the ongoing development of industry leading data services
- Provide support for the Sales process where applicable in the role as local Data Services Messaging SME
Skills
Key Selection Criteria:
- Minimum 10 years experience in financial services industry with experience in either a technology or operations capacity
- Demonstrated experience with industry standard instruction messaging protocols - SWIFT, FIX, FM
- Demonstrated experience with data architecture and interfacing with at least two of the following core areas - front, middle and back office
- Demonstrated experience with standard messaging and transport protocols - MQ, FTP etc
Desirable:
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation and customer skills
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to manage projects
- Prior experience in a client facing role managing a portfolio of clients is desirable
- Excellent knowledge on Australian domestic and global securities markets
