Data Steward recruitment

As a Data Steward your major accountabilities will include:

• Perform all day-to-day activities within the Investment Operations – Data Management team (DM).

• Ensure that SLA’s are met, all required tasks are completed and checked, and issues or queries dealt with promptly and professionally.

• Provide expertise in all Data Management processes.

• Complete specialist tasks including maintaining data in the Operational Data Repository (ODR) and Funds Under Management databases, dealing with business data queries relating to Front Office applications, namely Latent Zero, thinkFolio, Bloomberg AIM Aladdin

• Critically examine existing processes suggesting areas where service can be improved, efficiency can be increased, risk reduced and controls strengthened.

• Provide Data Management Subject Matter Expertise into Change initiatives (BaU and Change led) – covering near term and strategic.

• All data on internal systems accurately maintained within the required time scales, and communicated to relevant JP Morgan IOS teams. Data includes instruments, portfolios, brokers and benchmarks.

• All data integrity and quality assurance checks are completed as required including daily, monthly and periodic reviews and data integrity checks against external sources.

• Facilitate the maintenance of all ‘static’ data in a variety of Investment Operation and Front Office applications. Static data includes exchanges, currencies and calendars.

• Data related queries and problems are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.

• Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date procedures and process documents. Ensure these are adhered to at all times.

• Identification of efficiencies, enhanced functionality or controls that will improve the data and the provision of data to the clients of the DM team.

• Review and amend SLA’s and KPI’s to ensure they meet business requirements and encourage efficient performance of the DM function.

As a Data Steward your skills, experience and qualifications will ideally include:

• ‘A’ Levels / Graduate or equivalent

• Related Financial Industry qualifications

• Likely to have strong working experience within a Data Management / Operations role in an asset management environment, preferably relating to data/pricing and/or Fund Manager support.

• Good understanding of Front Office and Operations processes.

• Working knowledge of the Investment Management industry.

• Good understanding of first line support requirements of Front Office functions.

• Good understanding of regulatory obligations and Corporate Governance policies.

• Good planning and communications skills.

• Excellent customer focus and high level of accuracy, particularly accurate keyboard skills.

• An excellent understanding of a wide range of tradable instruments.

• Good understanding of benchmarks.

• Working knowledge of data vendor systems, e.g. Bloomberg and FT Interactive Data.

• Skills in using OMS/Trading platforms e.g. Latent Zero, thinkFolio, Bloomberg

• Skills in using MS Office applications, e.g. MS Excel (advanced) and Word.

• Advantageous to have technical skills e.g. understanding of SQL.

• People Orientation – Takes steps to improve and develop own skills and abilities.

• Advantageous to have working knowledge of BRS – Aladdin platform

• Advantageous to have working knowledge of CADIS
