Data Team Lead recruitment
My client is looking for a senior level Data Team Lead. In this position you will provide technical leadership on an award winning application and to design and oversee the build out of its future infrastructure. This position is classed as hands on and where needed, the successful candidate will be expected to be hands on and not limit themselves to managing but have a say as to the delivery and design. You will be working with senior Business and IT heads to define and understand the scope of new deliverables, and working with the development team and quants to deliver an industry leading technical platform. Defining and delivering a data strategy for the group and work with strategic data vendors and internal teams to oversee its implementation. Defining and delivering a technical architecture to support the growth of the product and Business. Managing a number of concurrent projects and taking ownership for estimating, scheduling and tracking project status. Providing leadership and technical mentorship to the development team. You will also be involved in defining quality standards for the team and putting in place processes to ensure that they are adhered to.
Investigating and prototyping new and innovative solutions to technical challenges the team faces, and introduce the latest technologies and techniques where appropriate. Providing database development support and in-house consultancy for quants and developers, as well as providing assistance in diagnosing and solving production related issues.
You must have:
• Experience of managing a team and project management/reporting, and running development using “Agile” style methodologies
• Worked on large scale, multi-site, replicated enterprise systems
• Extensive Sybase experience, both development and systems architecture
• Experience of working with financial market data vendors (Bloomberg/Reuters/MarkIt) and proven track record of delivering integration projects
