Job Title: Data Visualization Analyst Job Area: This position will be part of the Retail Marketing team, specifically reporting into the Retail Marketing Analytics Research group. The Chase Retail Marketing group focuses primarily on the sales and support of deposit products and services (i.e. Checking Savings accounts, and services like Debit Cards, Online Banking, Online Bill Payment, Automated Account Alerts, etc.) but does work with the Home Lending and Credit Card teams to source and transfer data as well as on a project by project basis. Job Description: This position is responsible for designing and producing data visualizations and analyses used for: statistical modeling, quantitative assessment, consumer and/or prospect profiling, and frequent executive and client reporting. The desired employee would contribute beyond producing data visualizations for the analytical teams. They would have exceptional audit skills, requiring the employee to learn this business, study our data (and purchased data), understand our metrics and how our customers behave, and know when something is out of the ordinary. In addition to audit, problem solving skills are critical. Once a data issue has been identified, the employee should have a practical approach and the technical ability to address it. This employee should have a passion for data and how that data contributes to the analytical "stories" we are tasked with telling. Lastly, expertise in the effective presentation/visualization of data/findings is critical. Being tuned in to how marketing partners, senior executives, and our sophisticated analysts accept and interpret our data is an important part of how we chose to deliver our information. Having the ability to customize the format of how we display results is a valuable attribute. Essentially, this employee should be able to create any (within reason) desired visualization format. Employee would be expected to: - Develop exceptional automated and dynamic data visualizations in Excel (primary) as well as other tools as required. - Develop and maintain VBA and SAS code. - Work with the marketing and analytical teams closely to identify required data/reporting solutions and be able to deliver efficient and useful results. - Design and produce a holistic data/results "dashboard", where important data audit metrics and campaign results would be presented/displayed on a regular basis. - Develop processes that increase data pull and presentation efficiency and are easily used across teams. - Produce visually compelling results when desired that succinctly summarize the data. The employee will have or be granted access to all relevant data and have the computing tools necessary to complete the job. If necessary data (or computing tool) does not readily exist, but can be otherwise sourced or purchased, it is not uncommon that the case would be made (and approved) to quickly acquire the desired information or capability. Beyond data and tool resources, the Retail Marketing Analytics Team is currently staffed with 50 highly skilled individuals (9 have PhDs, an additional 25 have Master's Degrees, and all 50 are SAS certified) who can be directly or indirectly leveraged on a project by project basis. Although he or she will have access to the team's resources, the expectation is that the employee can complete the project from start to finish without supervision. In addition to top-tier data management capabilities, the desired candidate would have a highly confident, analytically passionate, and outgoing disposition. They would thrive in a high pressure and high expectation environment. The employee would understand the cost benefit relationship between solution sophistication and practicality and strive to produce the fastest and most accurate results. They would be comfortable and capable of working with team-members, clients, and senior executives, effectively communicating with them at their level of analytical/technical understanding.
