Data Warehouse Developer recruitment
The successful candidate will be assigned as a developer to the Electronic Markets Transversal team working on a Data Warehouse Solution. The candidate is primarily expected to be working with Oracle and Linux, modelling, developing and managing the mechanisms used for extracting, transforming and storing latency information about the Electronic Markets activities of quoting, order management, trading and execution activities.
The role involves some 3rd level support, liaising either with the support team or with the business directly although the bulk of time will be spent on application development, configuration and customisation.
The platform being built upon is developed by the Data Warehouse team, which is part of Global Equities, Commodities and Derivatives. The platform comprises an Oracle Exadata database with a customised, pluggable and configurable J2EE front-end.
Skills / Qualifications
Expertise required:
- Oracle SQL, PL/SQL
- Data Warehousing experience
- Terabyte tables
- Very large volumes of data
- billions of lines/day or 100s GB/day
- ETL/ELT/EDLT/Modelization
- Implementation of Information Lifecycle Management policies (ILM)
- Data Quality Control
- Data Modelling (Config, OLAP and Star Schemas)
- Proven development experience, with knowledge of Agile development
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to face off to other development and support groups Proactive and flexible approach to dealing with challenges
- Ability to work with other teams to in delivering the optimal solution for the business
- Ability to deliver high quality solutions without relying on a test team
- Knowledge of programming best practices allied with a pragmatic, delivery focused outlook
Additional Expertise desired:
- Analytic SQL
- Knowledge of other languages – Java, C#, C++, Python
- Web 2.0 applications
