Data Warehouse Development Manager

Defines, designs, implements, and maintains Data Warehouse Development environments and Data Warehouse Architecture including the standardization of environments, research and development of new applications.  Owns the standardization of data warehouse architecture and technical review of all proposed data warehouse, business intelligence, and reporting applications for appropriate security and technical architectural fit.  Provides leadership, management and day-to-day direction to the data warehouse development team.  Project manages all interrelated aspects of the architecture with internal Information Services (IS) technologists to achieve a uniform, enterprise architecture and strategy.

 

Key to Sutter's business plan, the role of Sutter Health Information Services is to make electronic data and communications available to Sutter Health employees, providers and patients to support the health and well-being of the community, enhance patient care and safety, and improve business processes and performance. Information Services (IS) key approaches to meet these needs consist of the Applications, Telecommunications, Project Management, Web, and Technology. We continue to review IS optimization across our affiliates, regions and entire enterprise.

Education:

 

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or Healthcare Administration OR combination of equivalent education and relevant experience.

 

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

 

         Experience managing technical teams and providing leadership using a standardized SDLC as typically acquired in 7 to 10 years.
         Effective written and oral communication skills, good presentation and team building skills. 
         Manage and/or be involved in multiple projects (5-10) at the same time.
         Understand business requirements and supporting technical functional requirements.
         Create project plans and manage project tasks to the plan. 
         Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, and deliver quality products. 
         Department lead skills. 
         Articulate technical and user needs so that it is concise and easily understood by all. 
         Proficient at specifying user requirements, interacting with technical staff, application staff and vendors and documenting system needs, outcomes, and procedures.
         Positive attitude and be willing to learn new things. 
         Maintain a high level of energy and creativity and be able to work independently.
         Specialized skills in the deployment and maintenance of enterprise data warehouse and reporting tools solutions.  At least two in each of the following areas is required:
