Job Title Data Warehouse Programmer Analyst Senior Facility Aurora Health Care-505 Address 3305 W Forest Home Ave City Milwaukee State WI County Milwaukee Zip Code 53215 # Hours Per Pay Period (Bi-weekly) 80 Schedule M-F 8-4:30 Req # (optional) 87792BR Explore a Career In Information Services Job Description * Create complex SQL statements such as the use of subqueries, complex case statements and analytic functions using an over clause. * Create SQL Stored procedures and functions * Basic knowledge of ETL processes, including knowledge of changed data capture techniques * Basic data modeling skills including an understanding of star schemas/dimensional data modeling * SQL tuning experience using multiple type of indexes, analyzing explain plans, creating aggregate tables and materialized views * Creation, implementation and distribution of reports using an Enterprise reporting tool such as Business Objects * Analyzes complex business application information needs and /or clinical activities and formulates practical requirements for improvements whether automated or manual. This may include software recommendation, process improvements, system design enhancements, training and support. * Proactively evaluates the effectiveness of programs and systems to effectively propose new development options. Evaluations are based on a thorough understanding of newly developed applications or enhancements to address the changing needs of the users. * Translates user requirements into conceptual design specifications and reviews with the user to insure accuracy. * Leads medium size projects through all phases of system development including: planning, development, implementation and operation. Develop and document the project specifications including scope, direction and resource requirements. Keeps users and management appraised of project status and design decisions as required. * Writes new computer programs to conform to analyst and user specifications and revises existing computer programs to conform to new requirements and computer configurations and meets timeframes. * Functions within department and technical standards for programming, systems design and analysis. * Performs comprehensive testing to ensure error-free production software. * Code extract and summarization routines. * Create stored procedures for data scrubbing and data loading. * Code, test, and implement complex programs; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards. * Create optimized data structures or Data Marts to support complex data analysis. * Tune SQL running on an Oracle database. * Completes debugging. * Create/collect/present the Metadata of the data warehouse/data marts. * Designs and implements automated warehouse processes. * Designs report and batch processing programs. * Support standards, guidelines, and methods through use of data definitions, diagrams and data modeling tools and techniques. * Support and troubleshoot production systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving production problems, and providing timely follow up on problem reports. * Develop end user interfaces to allow users of the Data Warehouse to better understand how to use the decision support systems that are available. * Analyzes technical problems relating to applications, hardware, software, and operating system failures and takes corrective action to minimize current and future impact on the user community. * Builds new applications interfacing with other systems and/or users incorporating industry trend development strategies and technologies having user-friendly designs using Oracle application and warehouse tools and/or Microsoft Office client server application development tools. * Assists with the support of various 3rd party vendor applications ranging from vendor liaison, system administration, data interfaces, and supplemental application development. * Provide assist in new systems development, new package system evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems. * Participates in "on-call" rotation and resolves approximately 90% of problems independently. * Continuously maintains a knowledge base of design techniques, software, and hardware and language capabilities through formal education, reading, networking and daily activities. * Performs other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.
