Database Administration Advisor
The successful candidate will be part of a 9-10 person DBA team that manages several databases and must be able to work independently with minimum guidance in a team environment. One must have a minimum of 5 years experience with handling of medium to large OLTP or large DSS database in a UNIX environment.
Suitable candidate can work from our Herndon VA, Orlando FL or Lexington KY office location.
Deserving Candidate will have the following characteristics:
· Experience in managing large database objects (Partition tables and indexes), procedures, triggers and views.
· Experience in database upgrade and applying database PSU/CPU patches.
· Knowledge of Database Tuning, SQL tuning and optimization of query plans.
· Capable of implementing database backup and recovery strategies and procedures
· Experience of UNIX Script development.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day to day administration of Oracle databases
- Monitoring database statistics and other application specific parameters to maintain performance of the system
- Work with developers to promote Database changes and solve any performance issues
- Develop and manage automated UNIX scripts to handle day to day database activities.
- Participation in 24X7 On-call support rotation
Qualifications
5 - 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
3+ years of oracle database administration experience.
