Database Administrator - Teradata Architect
We are looking for a terdata admin consultant for our client in CA.
Job Description :
The Database Administrator (DBA) will provide services to administer, maintain, and support Teradata’s DW environment. The DBA requires specific technical knowledge about the administration and control of Teradata’s corporate data warehouse environment, including the database (Teradata), BAR (Backup and Recovery)environment,operating systems and tools. The Database Administrator may be the Lead Consultant on technology implementation projects and will also be involved in general support activities. The individual will need to work effectively with other application administrators that use the Teradata Data Warehouse (DW) systems to ensure an effective and efficient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Administration, maintenance and control of database optimization, capacity, security, configuration, scheduling, errors, and execution of maintenance utilities.
· Administration, maintenance, and control of the data sourcing (ECTL) and Business Intelligence (BI) environment.
· Managing data and referential integrity of the database.
· Mentor and interact with other team members for the dissemination of information about the database and system administration.
· Periodic backups of the database and operating system.
· Plan for and support hardware/software installation and upgrades.
· Coordinate and assist with support incidents reported by users of the EDW environment.
· Support and implement audit requirements.
Qualification:
Bachelors Degree
7-10 Year Work Experience
Project Management experience with a minimum of one project completed is a plus
