Job Description Database Administrator responsible for the operations and maintenance of all Oracle and SQL servers/ databases and supporting information technology services for the Air Force's two enterprise networks. The Database Administrator shall operate and maintain hardware, software and databases necessary to provide at a minimum the following network management disciplines: Performance Management, Account Management, Fault Management Storage Management and Security Management. The Database Administrator shall perform network management of AF operated databases and supporting servers using SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Profiler or other government provided tools including tools provided by the Combat Information Transport System (CITS) Program Management Office. Perform system analysis, design, integration, programming, documentation, and implementation of applications using both Oracle or Microsoft database systems and COTS software application environments to include the tracking of specific of configuration items, identification of routine maintenance tasks, patching, storage allocation, database backups, and regular review of SQL server logs related to event server, performance and security. Maintain clean and error free SQL and/or Oracle databases providing proper maintenance techniques In addition responsibilities include collecting and maintaining metrics related to, but not limited to, the Service Delivery Summary thresholds as related to performance of the AF Enterprise Networks; provide these metrics to the government for their information and action. Perform as required network trend analysis on server, device or network performance; provide this analytical information to the government for their review and/or action. The candidate should be available to fill in a shift position on a rotational basis with the rest of the network management and analysis team. Provide proactive and reactive management of resources by monitoring and managing the network's hardware, distributed software resources and performing fault management and performance management services. The candidate will provide technical support to Functional System Administrators, and develop policies and procedures associated with database administration. Shift work, on-call, or standby may be required This position requires a Secret security clearance Mandatory experience with: - Familiarity with AF or DoD Networks - SQL 2005 and 2008 - Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server 2003 administration - SQL and Oracle Database Management - SQL database design and implementation - SQL Server Management Studio - SQL Profiler - Apache Web server - IIS 6.0 and 7.0 - NetIQ SQL Knowledge Scripts Desired experience : - NetIQ Application Manager - Network Management tools (ex.
