Database Administrator III
Northrop Grumman Information Sector is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA. Put your years of experience into an opportunity to contribute to technical solutions to the customer through a collaborative, team-based approach. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Public Health division which focuses on Health IT solutions for the Centers of Disease Control.
We are looking for dynamic, professional, team-oriented, self-motivated individual capable of complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in the best principles and practices of database management
- Design, support, evaluate, and manage databases
- Provide system capacity planning and other operational needs
- Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases
- Support and adjust Oracle, MS SQL *Server, MS Access, and SharePoint systems
- Assess performance issues and provide recommendations for improvements
- Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases
- Reviews databases design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and recommendations
regarding enhancements and/or improvements
- Maintains security and integrity controls
- Maintain inventory of all software and software development tools used
- Provide documentation for all maintenance and operational procedures
- Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management
- Monitors transaction activity and utilization
- May develop stored procedures and/or triggers
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree with (6) years experience, Masters degree with (4) years experience
- Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database Server
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CDC application database support preferred
- Strong communications skills
- MS Access
This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
