Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly competent and motivated Database Administrator to assume ownership of our SQL Server databases and SSIS ETL supporting our company's Consumer Finance division. As a critical member of our tightly knit Distributed Applications team the candidate selected will provide operational support for SQL Server and ETL platforms to ensure security and availability and performance in a complex environment.

This position requires working closely with application support engineers, application and ETL developers, project managers and other DBAs to support for approximately 35 SQL Server databases across multiple servers, as well as the execution, monitoring and troubleshooting of both manual and automated ETL packages. This individual will be tasked to perform ETL maintenance and administrative tasks in both production and non-production environments, SCM planning and integration, and to provide input on ETL design and testing strategies to ensure that they meet strict production supportability standards.

Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a high sense of ownership, good communication skills and a passion for technology. The selected candidate will be empowered to make day to day decisions and will be expected to attend to his or her responsibilities with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

The successful Database Administrator will have four or more years experience supporting a department level MS SQL Server environment. He or she will be familiar with standard techniques employed to provide high availability and disaster recovery with MS SQL Server or other RDBMS. An understanding of database security, including SQL Server roles, groups and Active Directory integration is also required.

As there is a significant ETL component to this position, we are seeking candidates with two or more years experience creating or supporting Microsoft based ETL, including DTS and/or SSIS. Candidates familiar with other platforms such as I-Way or DataStage are also encouraged to apply.

Hours and Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

This position includes occasional evening and/or weekend support activities, requiring a flexible work schedule.
