Database Administrator Job Description: Our client is looking for a SQL DBA with 2 years of experience in the Administration of SQL Databases, performance tuning, and installing, maintaining, and refreshing databases for development, test, and production environments. Job Duties Include: Provide day-to-day support for SQL Server databases, jobs and services. Also provide support for other assigned database systems (i.e. Pervasive, Access, etc.) and services. Implement, test and maintain backup and recovery procedures. Install, maintain and refresh databases for development, test and production environments. Code and implement T-SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, and Packages by using best practices, standards, and code-optimization techniques. Perform server/database patching, upgrade and migration as necessary. Responsible for maintaining database configurations in compliance with security policy and standards. Establish and manage user access, design and implement security architecture. Work closely with IT and Business managers to ensure proper implementation and adherence to security standards. Monitor security breaches, error logs, space, user activity and resource utilization of all SQL Server environments. Ensure production systems meet performance and availability requirements. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the database architecture and the application functionality for multiple, complex applications including Duck Creek, Siebel, FileNet, custom .Net applications and other assigned systems. Responsible for database design and implementation for various projects. Create procedures and standards (i.e. naming conventions, best practices, etc.) for database design including but not limited to table design, views, stored procedures, database optimization, etc. Create procedures and standards for moving database objects from development to test to production. Create procedures and standards for documenting database design (i.e. ERD's). Provide expert assistance in SQL statement tuning, indexing, and partitioning to improve application performance.
