Our client is a global company and has a strong presence in their field. They are currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join their team as an IT Database Administrator to be based in their Sydney office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of business database administration and design, including database architecture and design implementation, monitoring, replication, tuning, backup, migration, and support.
- Develop, maintain and monitor adherence to data standards, including writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
- Lead the technical systems development aspects of assigned projects to deliver new capabilities or systems
- Build and maintain the operational performance and integrity of the SQL and Oracle databases underpinning business application systems.
- Build and maintain the interfaces between major applications and maintains the operational integrity of the data streams.
- Collaborate with the Senior Systems Analyst (Enterprise Systems) to ensure that application services and projects receive appropriate database support and data management services throughout their lifecycle.

Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP: DBA)
- Hold qualifications in SQL, Oracle, and related business database systems
- Professional training will be supported by experience in broad based business system and business system development and/or administration
- Proven knowledge in the following... T-SQL, SSIR, SSIS
- Due to the nature of the business you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligable for this role. If you have security clearance then that's even better!
The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing technical analysis and design leadership to support the database architecture underpinning current and future business and customer systems. This will incorporate ownership of the design and management of current and future SQL, SQL Server, and Oracle Enterprise Database systems - including Backups and Recovery, Security, Replication, Disaster Recovery, and Patching. The role will also lead the provision of a range of data related services, including SQL and T-SQL support, data reports, performance and database tuning, and support the development of integrated monitoring services.
