SUMMARY OVERVIEW

Jabil is looking for an experienced and talented individual to join the Global Systems Development team as Database Analyst. This individual will participate in the development and support of global applications by analyzing business requirements and generating database solutions based on Jabil Database Standards and Best Practices.

The right candidate should possess the following skills/knowledge:

• Proficient in database modeling and design, SQL development, query tuning and performance, ETL development, design reviews, code reviews, database documentation, and mentoring other developers
• Ability to perform Database Administration activities.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008.
• Microsoft Team Foundation Server for Database Source Code Management.
• Ability to work with cross-functional people.
• Good understanding and experience on development life cycle.
• Ability to work in a highly changing environment.
• Good customer service skills as well as effective communication skills – both verbal and written

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create database models and designs using appropriate software tools.
• Create and document maintenance and plans.
• Create, document and implement disaster recovery and (business continuity) testing.
• Design and document replication schemas.
• Design security architectures for DB
• Design reporting and archiving systems.
• Review project requests.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Review design for performance and performance tuning.
• Ability to produce costing and ROI information.
• Provide scope and limitation of objects.
• Participate in project planning as required.
• Work with source code control systems.
• Analyze database requirements of user departments.
• Design, develop, modify tests and debug databases.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Computer Science or computer related discipline preferred;
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a related position.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
