Specific Job Description DCPDS Performance Analysis Lead. This position is dedicated to the ongoing analysis of DCPDS application and database operations to ensure optimum performance of application and database processing for the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) Enterprise Human Resource application and related systems supporting over 800,000+ DoD civilian personnel records and users. DCPDS is a highly available 24/7, mission critical, computing infrastructure. This position involves system wide performance monitoring, analysis, and correction to include workstation, network, database internals, SQL, application configuration, middle tier, and Unix/Linux database server configuration, with emphasis on the middle tier. The candidate selected for this position must have demonstrated expertise in Oracle application and database technology, as well as general operating system and disk systems operations to deliver functional and technical solutions on varied application/database processing to include complex integrated hardware/software solutions. May act as the team lead on projects to include solution design and implementation aspects of tasks ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May also provide coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of peers and team members. Effectively consults with management on production changes or problems. An applicant must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possess an ability to solve application and technical problems requiring attention to detail, have both collaborative and independent work process exposure. An applicant should have the ability to see ?the big picture? and how one?s role in a project contributes to the greater strategic mission. An applicant should have the capacity to embrace diverse technical disciplines and have excellent customer intimacy skills (i.e. listening, understanding, questioning in a non-threatening manner, differentiating between customer?s wants and needs, and ability to deliver on those needs). This job requires the ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to learn new skills quickly while on the job. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications. May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
