Database Developer – Applications Centric

Position Overview

We are looking for Database Engineers to accept challenging assignments that not only test your knowledge of SQL Server and RDB theory and practice, but also allow you to expand your skill set. As an experienced Database Engineer, you will become a member of AIR's growing Software Research and Development team. You will be developing commercial grade databases for web and desktop applications using SQL Server as the main database. We are creating new applications and re-architecting our existing desktop applications utilizing .NET. You should have a wide breadth of database development experience and skills as do the other top notch members of the development team. You will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to the growth of the company's product suite.

Qualifications:

You should have a strong working knowledge of SQL Server 2005 / 2008 with proficiency in performance tuning, troubleshooting and writing stored procedures in an applications centric environment. You should also have a strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and the ability to multi-task. You should have demonstrated that you could come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem. Coding skills in T-SQL should be outstanding.

In addition, some ORACLE experience would be helpful as well as knowledge of application programming languages like C#. You will be working with very large databases so that the ability to comprehend complex problems and translate them into software designs is a must.
