Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Database Developer Market Data to join our high profile client.
Our client is the premier center for financial research. It partners with all the major financial services players and has sixty-four permanent professors, engineers and support staff based in some of the world’s best investment banks. My client supports Portfolio optimization specifically in the asset management and investment banking sector. They are currently the market lead on exotic indices.
The database engineer will work within the index and benchmark development team. This creates indices for global financial markets used by funds and banks alike.
The successful candidate will be in charge of using the existing data infrastructure and data access
tools to create project specific databases of financial data. The database engineer will also implement
rebalancing routines for systematic portfolio strategies. The database engineer will work with the
development teams and interact with the research teams, in a fast-paced environment, on the
development of tools for the maintenance and update of data and the extraction from and reporting
on the project specific databases.
Candidates should have:
- BSc / Master’s level in computer science orengineering.
- In-depth database development skills (i.e. knowledge of database platforms, data modelling, database design, sound development skills in VBA and SQL)
- SQL SSIS or SSIS
- Experience in a database management role.
- Matlab development knowledge, experience in dealing with financial data providers (for market data, reference data, fundamental data), and a grasp of financial concepts would be an asset for the position.
- The role requires an individual with a high level of independence, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability.
