Database Engineer for Financial Data — one vacancy in Nice, France

We are recruiting a database engineer to work within our index and benchmark development team. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the existing data infrastructure and data access tools to create project specific databases of financial data. The database engineer will also implement rebalancing routines for systematic portfolio strategies. The database engineer will work with the development teams and interact with the research teams, in a fast-paced environment, on the development of tools for the maintenance and update of data and the extraction from and reporting on the project specific databases.

The typical candidate will have an educational background at the Master’s level in computer science or engineering. The position requires in-depth database development skills (i.e. knowledge of database platforms, data modelling, database design, sound development skills in VBA and SQL) and experience in a database management role. Matlab development knowledge, experience in dealing with financial data providers (for market data, reference data, fundamental data), and a grasp of financial concepts would be an asset for the position. The role requires an individual with a high level of independence, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability.
