Position Description:

Primary responsibilities include transforming data into actionable business intelligence through the use of query and reporting tools. Perform hands on analysis of customer data, using tools such as SQL Assistant and Cognos, to access enterprise data warehouse and deliver customer insights used in marketing, planning and reporting.

Primary Goals
• Conduct in-depth analysis of customer data and ensure accurate data is delivered to users
• Partner with IT Support team to ensure data integrity and resolve Cognos or Data Discrepancies. Design, develop and maintain business intelligence reports
• Document business requirements and provide system specifications for reports. Suggest new data elements and/or tables needed to support reports

Secondary Goals
• Translate findings into clear insights and then communicate verbally and through compelling written documents is a must.
• Ability to professionally present and articulate the business value of complicated analysis to a diverse group of users
• Ensure processes, tools and documentation are in place to support efficient and consistent customer analysis across the team

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree (Information Technology or Computer Science etc.). Graduate degree preferred in Computer Science.
Ability to research data anomalies and recommend solutions. Must be detail-oriented and have valid reasoning skills. Good oral and written communication skills.
At least 6 years of related work experience in a database marketing or Customer Analytics or Business Analytics or Senior database manager role. Must have extensive experience in data analysis. Must have experience working directly with business team. Experience with supporting marketing organization. Experience in dealing with non-technical associates to understand their business challenges.
Expert skills in writing complex SQL queries to analyze, manipulate data, investigate data problems, develop / modify reports. Prefer experience in using Teradata and Oracle. Experience with generating reports using Reporting tools, such as Cognos, QlikView, Information Builders, AsterData
