Our client is a leading general insurance company with a strong Singapore presence. This institution works across more than 35 markets globally and its general insurance portfolio spans Property, Marine Cargo, Liability, Engineering and Bonds. Due to continued growth our client is looking to strengthen their IT support team by hiring a Database Support Analyst
Reporting to the VP for IT, the successful candidate will be required to liaise with and provide support to a number of stakeholders across the business including technical consultants, Business Unit IT Managers, Project managers and developers. This individual will provide systems administration and support for all databases, middleware and DBMS. They will also monitor, tune and manage DB performance, troubleshoot all DB related issues and ensure compliance to Data Security Standards.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- At least 5 years' experience in supporting database, middleware and DBMS in an IT environment
- Relevant Tertiary Degree
- Experience in user support and liaison
- Database design, technologies and operating systems sklls
- Database structure query language (SQL), Operating Systems and Unix skills
- IT Technology trends and directions
- Problem solving and good analytical skill
- Self motivated and team player
- Committed to achieve objectives
- Able to work with tight deadline under pressure and after office hour
- Clear communicator
- Business aware and understanding of business requirement within IT.
