Data/Requirements Analyst/Quantative Analysis
Our client is looking for a Senior Data/Business Analyst for a long term opportunity. The client would like the option to employ the individual directly after an initial consulting period, therefore they are only considering Green Card Holders or U.S. Citizens for this position.
Job Summary:
The Data/Requirements Analyst performs a variety of duties including developing new surveillance patterns, maintaining existing patterns, developing prototypes and writing business requirements for these surveillance patterns.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop surveillance patterns, using quantitative and statistical analysis and methods to use for regulatory and compliance monitoring for the Capital Markets.
- Develop business requirements and prototype surveillance patterns by analyzing market data pursuant to SROs' and SEC rule requirements.
- Review and analyze economically sound trading scenarios, which may potentially lead to market abuse and manipulation.
- Conceptualize surveillance pattern requirements and provide statistical and economic reports in justification of these surveillance risk models.
- Perform ad hoc statistical analysis related to market quality and trading performance.
- Review changes and enhancements to SROs' trading systems and assess the impact of those changes on the SROs' regulatory and surveillance program.
Qualifications Required:
Knowledge and understanding of equity trading, familiarity with SRO concepts and Regulation, as well as an awareness of SEC rules.
Must have experience working in SAS, SPSS and writing efficient queries in SQL.
Prior experience in the statistical analysis, trading strategies and/or economic modeling and data crunching.
Candidate should be comfortable performing high-level statistical analysis on time-series data and working with very large datasets.
- Strong academic background with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (math, economics, or computer science) required, Master's degree or equivalent work experience preferred, complimented with strong quantitative skills.
