The Enterprise Information DataScope Product Specialist Team is responsible for the initial and ongoing DataScope product integration efforts delivered to our clients. While the team provides onboarding and integration support to deliver our data assets including reference data, terms and conditions, pricing, legal entity and corporate actions; this new staff addition will be BILLABLE and support Data Consultancy as a revenue generating position. This position will provide billable consulting services to clients for the implementation and use of our Web API, bulk file and server-based delivery and workflow technologies. Our clients range across the entire diversity of investment management, research, portfolio / fund accounting, valuation and administration. This Product Specialist position requires the candidate have a strong financial services, investment management, reference data management and/or back-office experience combined with exposure to the technical areas of security master data management, portfolio accounting and valuation, investment management and trading. The candidate must be a self starter and prepared to deliver excellence in client service and innovative approaches to client needs. This position is based in Chicago, IL and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time is required.
Role requires the following essential day-to-day responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing billable business analysis and programmatic technical support across pre/post sales efforts as a Thomson Reuters Data Consultant.
- Provide requirements definition, analysis, design, programming and testing support at the client location.
- Receive and document product related service requests and inquiries and provide product functional demonstrations, detailed data content reviews, data integration recommendations, and coordinate efforts with technical and data operations teams.
- Contribute to improved internal and external client service and product support with emphasis on excellence in client communications.
- Promote product improvements that drive increased client value, support the rollout of new product enhancements and applications.
- Define and document requirements for addition of new content and functionality to the pricing and reference data product portfolio.
- Work with client facing teams to monitor client's data and functionality needs and define new product enhancements
- Client support will include travel and customer facing visits as appropriate, approximately 80%

Skills
Relevant education in field connected to finance or quantitative subjects is required. Minimum Bachelor degree in Information Management, Finance, or Accounting required.
Skills required:
- Minimum 5+ years market experience in financial services and/or capital markets
- Demonstrate knowledge of the financial markets with specific experience in one or more of the following: securities reference data, terms and conditions, global equity and evaluated fixed income pricing, corporate actions, or legal entity data
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to product clear and concise documentation, articulate and present complex data solutions to various levels and types of business professionals
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Thomson Reuters data and products and/or strong database SQL / Web Service C#, Java programming experience highly preferred
- Previous consulting experience with hourly billable service and revenue generating experience
- Knowledge of foreign languages and prior experience in dealing with clients abroad a plus
- Knowledge of third party workflow software solutions including Charles River, Advent Geneva, Linedata Longview, MFact, PORTIA, InvestOne a plus
- Other relevant fund accounting, portfolio accounting, pricing specialist certifications
