Job Duties:
- Work closely with data analyst/modellers, development managers, project managers and relevant IT parties to analyse business requirements and provide viable solutions, coherent with the custody data solution globally.
- Estimate resources for product enhancement, and coordinate with IT parties and vendors to accomplish project objectives according to the project standards and best practices.
- Formulate viable solutions and evaluate associated risks, costs, timing and benefits to ensure that correct tools are effectively used and meet business requirements
- Perform research and feasibility studies to identify and evaluate suitable operational data store and data transformation solutions for the business.
- Design and develop data solutions according to group IT standards, and ensure that solutions developed are consistent with the custody data architecture globally.
- Arrange system integration testing to ensure the quality of deliverables, and support business to complete user functional testing and conduct high volume and/or stress test.
- Identify any issues that may arise and develop measures to control risks.
- Implement custody data solutions and project rollouts over the full project life cycle, ensure a high quality of IT deliverables, prepare documentation for compliance and audit checking.
Communication
- Provide clear, concise and accurate written and verbal reports to the project managers, development managers and other stakeholders.
- Prepare well structured, clear and well presented project deliverables.
Candidate Specifications
- A university graduate with degree in IT or a related discipline. Good experience with solid background in software design, development and testing, preferably in a global environment.
- Exposure of working in regional or global project teams on global custody, sub-custody clearing, unit trusts trading, fund administration or transfer agency operation is an added advantage.
- Technical experience in enterprise application development in UNIX (Linux/AIX/Solaris) platform using Java/J2EE technologies and Oracle database is a must.
- Hands-on experience in Data Warehouse projects and Oracle database design, DataStage or Middleware DML as ETL tools as well as Infosphere CDC / IBM MQ are essential.
- Knowledge in using Business Intelligence tools (like Actuate, Business Objects or Crystal Reports) would be an asset. Understanding of change control in software releases is preferable.
- Experience of working in a medium to large team of staff dealing with local/overseas parties, external vendors and offshore development resource would be ideal.
- Solutions-driven and customer-focused with sound analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently under pressure in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Proactive and positive team player. Self-motivated, good presentation and negotiation skills, with ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work effectively under pressure.
- Fluent in written/spoken English, with strong interpersonal and effective communication skills to deal with people of different levels, functions and geographic locations.
- International exposure is an advantage, willing to travel overseas occasionally if required.
