DB2 Database Administrator / Architect – Finance IT recruitment

Position Description
Finance IT is responsible for supporting the technology need of the global Finance division. To deliver on Finance requirements, we interface with all of the other firms divisions to perform those financial calculations and generate the required reports.

The Cash Traceability and Balance Sheet Unification projects aim to provide clarity into how business units use cash and how much funding cost they incur. In doing so, the Phoenix Funding system processes a wide variety of business events and positions/balances, in a precisely defined way and at the right level of granularity.

A Database Administrator/Architect is required to work with Application DBAs and Application Development team for the Phoenix Funding system. The position requires a hands-on database technologist with database administration, architecture experience combined with leadership skills.  Experience is required in SQL development and performance tuning specific to DB2 UDB.The ideal candidate should be able to provide architectural direction and vision to the database development team. In addition a leadership position will be available for the right candidate.

Skills Required
- Experience in the database development lifecycle
- Experience in design, development and support of large Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence related database applications.
- Experience with DB2 UDB running on a unix/linux platform.
- Experience with DB2 UDB EEE (DPF) in a multi-partitioned distributed environment.
- Database programming including stored procedure and trigger development.
- Strong DB2 UDB performance tuning and monitoring experience.
- Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries for performance improvement.
- Ability to design databases, including capacity, memory, data sizing and disk layouts.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with remote teams.
